우리, 친해질 수 있을까 요즘의 세상 분위기는 갈수록 활자를 멀리하고 있다. 지난 몇 년간 ‘독서율이 얼마만큼 떨어졌다’던가, ‘서점의 매출이 얼마만큼 떨어졌다’던가 하는 이야기들이 끊임없이 들려왔다. 한때는(어렸을 때) 책 좀(정말 조금) 읽었었던 본인은 어느샌가 의식하지 않으면 책을 집어 들지도 않게 되었다. 그리고 요즘은 ‘성인 평균 한 달 독서량이 몇 권’이니 하는 소식들을 접할 때마다 뜨끔하는 죄책감도 무뎌진지 꽤 오래전이다. 예전에는 책을 좀 읽어보자는 취지의 TV 프로그램이 있었을 정도로 독서를 권장하는 분위기가 성행했었고, 지식의 상징은 곧 책이었다. 하지만 시대가 빠르게 변하는 지금 현재는 그렇지가 않다. 손만 몇 번 까딱거리면 알고 싶었던 정보의 대부분을 찾아볼 수 있고, 심지어는 옛날 옛적 읽어본 재미난 책의.. 2019. 10. 8.
